Arlington Industries TVBS505 2 Gang Steel Switch Boxes are great!

I ordered 4 Arlington Industries TVBS505 2-Group Steel Electric TV Boxes through Revain Prime and received them within 2 days as usual. I needed steel electrical boxes for a firewall between my living room and garage. I replaced the outer 12/2 wire conduit on the 20 amp circuit breaker with a new 12/2 wire through the wall. The standard steel electrical boxes at the local hardware store are usually good enough, about the same cubic space inside for the actual wire, except they don't have the recess I wanted as I will be installing hanging shelves in front of them. I also had to install two of these side by side between a rack (one on the garage side, one on the living room side) and they fit with enough space. The depth is also ideal, they rest and almost touch the back but not quite. I like the simple 45 degree bolt guides and the old design set screws, I've used both. Installation took less than 10 minutes: turn off the switch, check the cable, trace the outline, saw the hole, push the cable through. push through, clamp the wire, connect the socket and screw the plates together. One thing to watch out for, of course, is screwing the box onto the stud. One thing to note, make sure you don't screw it in where the wires can go through the stud. I set up my 4 boxes like this: One has 2 duplex jacks, another has 1 duplex jack and one empty, the next has a jack and a low voltage RJ45 CAT 6a, and the last one has a duplex jack and a low voltage RJ45 Cat 6a with 2 RG6s. They're a little more expensive than plain boxes at your local hardware store, but it's worth the deepening. I even bought a plastic 3 slot back box for firewall protection. They were easy to install and fit perfectly with the 2 x 4 (1.5 x 3.5) frame with 5/8" drywall that makes up the walls of my garage. I believe they will come with 1/2" Drywall on a 2x4 frame will be fine as I can have some space behind them with 5/8" drywall. Once I buy new wall panels for them I will take photos to post here. It will come with a 2- Gang plate supplied with 2 decorative cut outs but my sockets are standard duplex (non-decorative) I would highly recommend this product to anyone needing a built in socket, switch, junction box etc.
