After reading many reviews I could not include many things, many specifics. So I will try to detail my experience with my 1 week superior 6kw steam generator. I've been using it every day for a week. This is only temporary as my bathtub renovation has not started yet. This appliance replaces the Steamist #sm-3p (6.5 kW, 25 ampere). I bought the device new and installed it. I think it was 1982. He stopped working about 6 years ago. good run My shower is 3 x 5 x 7, all interior walls, wall paneling is ceramic tile and one full wall is a sealed glass shower door. with fiberglass shower tray. That steam block was a beast. It took 10 minutes to get as hot as I could handle and I would only last 10 minutes of vaping. I had a simple on/off timer that I usually set for 20 minutes. The shower got so hot my feet started to boil and I had to take a bucket of cold water and put it under the steam head to keep it moderate. Temperature. Now fast forward to 2020. Steamist no longer makes this device and what they had to offer did not meet my needs. I wanted to use existing wiring (10-2, 30 amp circuit). The few units that allowed me to use my wiring weren't particularly designed for 105cc. Feet (no settings). All 7.5kW units required 8-2 loops of wiring, 40-50 amps and all sold an automatic drain valve assembly as an added item and they weren't cheap. After several lengthy discussions with Mark (a very nice gentleman, btw) at the Homeward bath, I settled on an upgraded 6kW self-draining steam bath generator. Yes, it's smaller than my old Steamist device, but it just works, albeit a little differently. let me explain. First I tried to compare apples to oranges. This steam generator really takes about 20 minutes to heat up my shower while the steam generator took 10 minutes. But this is normal, I sit down and relax, and after 10-15 minutes I have enough. But at the same time it is much more convenient, since my legs do not get hot, and I do not "throw” into and out of the steam room with unbearable heat. Remember that my device is only temporarily connected and the control panel is still in the basement under the shower. So I'm running all the time as the temperature only shows 66 degrees. With the right settings I can control the temperature even better and enjoy it a lot more. I set it up with just 24" or 3/4" diameter copper vapor tubing with two long 45* bends. However, it attaches to the 4 x 1/2" nipple that is in my existing shower. I don't use any steam head as I don't want to restrict the steam line any more than I would with a 1/2" nipple. A reset will be required. I don't need a reset. I will of course change the 1/2" nipple to a 3/4" nipple when I redo the tub. updates. Now I installed the device in the closet. Right behind my shower room (see attached photo). Works better than ever. Control panel not yet installed. So far it is next to the steam block, in the cupboard.
