I came across a video about calligraphy with a parallel pen and bought a set. I love calligraphy and lettering and this pen is perfect! All 4 sizes are included and it's much cheaper than buying them individually. Each set includes a pen, 2 inks, a tool to easily remove ink residue, a thin plastic tool to remove filament when it gets stuck between metal tips, and a nice little guide with 2 types of practice writing. .The flat and flexible nibs are ideal for Old English calligraphy as well as other styles. You can use the wide flat tip for broad strokes or just the side for thin strokes. They use a special ink cartridge and have a choice of 12 different colors. While they state that the ink cannot be refilled, it can actually be done very easily with a blunt needle and fountain pen ink. For those interested, there is a YouTube video showing how to do it. You can also easily crack the pin with a Dremmel-style tool, again there are several videos showing how to do this. The pen itself is made entirely of plastic, except for the tip, which is made of metal. The set contains a red and a black ink. If you do decide to buy the rods they are fairly cheap and come in sets of 12. I suggest buying at least 1 set so you can refill your colors when you need them. I am over the moon with these pens and even ordered 2 extra sets to do the ombre lettering. I just wish I had known about this sooner because of course they are perfect for writing on and even coloring. Make sure to get the full set, it's a lot cheaper and you'll need all 4 sizes.
