because I still prefer recording to cassette tapes to recordable CDs. Why do I prefer this method over the latest writable CDs? Let me list the possibilities: 1) Durability - I still have tapes that I recorded in the 1970's that sound just as good today as they did then. 2) Durability - Re-read number one. can many people even remotely say something like that about their CDs that are only a few years old? My tapes have been on vacation, at the beach, by the campfire, in extreme weather. And they continue to play great. 3) Quality - I put my homemade cassettes against each CD and nobody will hear the difference. I'm not talking about playback on your home system, I'm talking about car or portable blaster systems. Even my very modern teenagers are impressed with the sound quality (and I rarely impress them!) 4) I have literally thousands of homemade cassettes. You gotta mess me up before I push them all to CD. Now don't think I'm against CDs - I'm a very big fan of CDs and use them for my recordings. countless tapes by different artists. I also rarely play my homemade cassettes on my home stereo. They're pretty exclusive to the car. I consider these Maxell high-bias cartridges the best of the best - they are the longest running quality raw cartridges. That's why I keep buying them over and over again instead of other available ones.
