Review on 🚴 Efficient Cycling Performance with Sigma Pure 1 ATS Wireless Bike Computer by Julio Solano

Revainrating 1 out of 5

This is a great computer if you have a working one.

I have a Custom Trek Emonda ALR-5 triathlon bike. When the bike was assembled at our local bike shop almost two years ago, I decided to install the Sigma Pure ATS-1 wireless computer. The store only had one in stock. I got my bike after three seasons and have only ridden about 20 miles on the computer. Stored the bike indoors in a guest room for the winter and rode it again in late Spring 2018. I liked the Sigma for its simplicity and ease of use - just ONE button walks you through everything it can do, including setting it back for the next ride. So easy, so easy; The display is big and bright, and the design is sleek. This computer reports 3 data points I want to know: speed (mph), distance and elapsed time. PERFECT. I don't need to know more. But during the season at some races the computer would hang for a few seconds or for 30-45 seconds. which corrupts the data. All three of these data points are critical to triathlon racing, which is why this issue is becoming more and more annoying. Fast forward to this season - it only lasts about 6 weeks - and the problem has gotten a lot worse. Both devices required the new 2032 flat battery to start; easy to fix. But the hover, which caused the screen to read "0.0mph" and freeze the time and distance, got much worse, to the point where only half the distance was recorded on any given ride. So far the Sigma website and internet searches for the cause of the problem have been useless and neither have the guys at the local bike shop, one of whom uses the same computer, been able to figure it out. Since I love the Sigma Pure 1 ATS so much, I ordered a new one from Revain two weeks ago. Now I'm giving it back. Yes, you guessed it, the replacement model is even WORSE with the same problem as the original I bought from the bike shop when I assembled my bike. won't even start working once I start cycling; Instead, its function is so random and intermittent that it's like a toddler breaking piano keys. Just. Nuts. I'd also like to mention that I loved using the Sigma Pure ATS-1 last summer (before it shook) that I ordered it from Revain and installed it on my commuter bike, which is also a Trek road bike. . After sitting all winter, the battery still holds a charge, and the computer reads perfectly. The score is two bad computer modules (apparently) against one working one. In my opinion, a 33% success rate is pretty bad. It's a great device when it works, but I don't want to roll the dice for the fourth time. I now have a Bontrager bike computer (Trek's own brand) that works pretty much the same but needs more layers to see the same thing. Information. I prefer the design and specs of the Sigma Pure ATS-1 and am sad that the German engineers cannot ensure consistency in production.
