I give props if they deserve what I buy. I really had to try a lot of different areas on my wall to get this thing to recognize studs. He will find the hairpin and I will mark the middle. Then I walked over the same spot and he didn't find the bobby pin he just found. Another review noted that textured walls alter performance. It really is like that. After many, many tries, I finally marked the knobs and was able to mount the TV wall mount. Luckily when I started drilling holes for the screws, the studs were actually there. I find it detects wire and metal better than wood studs. I would not recommend this device to my friends.
