Review on Dexen Electronic Ignition Control Module 593 592 by Michael Ward

After about 10 years of use, our heated fireplace started to have problems. It must first take some time before ignition occurs. Later it would sometimes shut down after a boot. Last season he started doing it more often and in less time. On the first cold day of this year, we tried unsuccessfully to turn the device on - it would light up and turn off immediately or not turn on at all, how many times we tried. We checked the igniter and it looked fine, so we decided to replace the module first. Revain to the rescue - ordered last night and the part arrived this afternoon. After checking with the local dealer they charged double the price and it was probably out of stock. Once it arrived it only took a few minutes to wire up the new module and now the fireplace lights almost instantly every time. Our old module wasn't marked "Rev B" so hopefully the updated version will be available in some way, if not more reliable, and last another 10+ years!
