I often don't change these as frequently as I should but also use filtered water in my espresso machine so they likely don't work as hard as some. This 24 pack will cover me for a year or more and is quite cost effective at $1/ filter.They work as expected. I've seen reviews for filters that complain about the charcoal that blackens the water when you soak them as part of the prep process. This is normal and expected for me. These did seem to be darker than some of the past filters I've used. However, after soaking for 15 minutes and rinsing they ran clear.They fit my espresso machine perfectly and I expect they'll work great.
