I used this along with a 45 degree liner and white side to make small signs. When I first started woodworking I started with a cheap router that worked well and switched to Freud until I started hearing Whiteside more often on some woodworking forums. Some of the pieces seemed a bit overpriced but as soon as I tried one of their pieces I was hooked. I use a Bosch Colt and full size plunge router, and Whiteside is my go-to for all my router bits. I still have Freud router bits and no name brand bits, but when I need a quality smooth surface finish I turn to Whiteside. This V-groove cutter was needed for making small signs and corner grooves. It is VERY sharp and cuts so smoothly that it is very easy to predict where the cut will be made. Cutting curved lines/marks was a breeze and while this type of work is nicer and slower I am very happy to invest in this brand. If you are looking for quality, Whiteside is definitely for you. j. If you're weekend carpenter for the occasion, other brands are probably more than enough.
