I actually ordered two shades of gray on separate occasions just to confirm I didn't accidentally get a different color. In the sunlight you can actually see that the blue comes out more than the grey. I wore it on a hike the other day and it helped protect my hands from sunburn. I still got some sun on my arms and shoulders. So I would say that an SPF rating of 30 is pretty accurate. Also, on my arm, I could see the difference in skin temperature between the sun-exposed and covered areas. It definitely helped cool me down.
