The only pad I will use. We adopted a little ball python in August and after trying different substrates we always had trouble getting the humidity levels up and down. Then I tried that. I soaked the brick in a bucket of warm water for about an hour, then broke it up and put it in a 10-gallon box. This gave about 3 inches easily. Dealing with humidity and temperature is not only a little easier, Mr. Snakey Snake clearly LOVES it. The first morning when I went to check before work I couldn't find it. I know it didn't come out, the lid was still securely closed. He was neither in his own skin nor in his wet room. Finally I found that he was curled up in a ball, at the very bottom. Now he has tunnels all over the tank leading to different caves.
