Excellent value for money and very suitable for filtering large debris from well water! The price was comparable to plastic sediment filters that come in large boxes, so I went with this one, which seems to be heavier. I wish I had installed one of these things many years ago! I installed this after my well water pressure tank and before my forced air iron picking filter. After my forced air iron picking filter, I have a 20 inch blue water filter (5 micron), then my water softener, then another 20 inch blue water filter (25 to 1 micron), which then goes to my house. I was shocked at how much large sediment got into this filter and so glad I got it. I guess I'm extending the life of all of my other filters (which I only installed about a week before installing this filter) because this handy little thing catches all the big particles. I usually have to flush it every few weeks or so (when I notice a build up). I've had it for a few months now and haven't removed the filter to clean or wet it yet as rinsing seems to help. I installed a pressure gauge before and after the filter and there is no noticeable loss of pressure. I wish I had installed one of these things a long time ago! Since I didn't have proper water filtration before (just using a chlorine injection system to get rid of the stench from the well water), I had quite a lot of scale in all my water lines. After I had all my filtration installed and before I installed a new water heater, I flushed all the water lines in the house to clean them (pumped vinegar into all water lines with a 1/4 hp transfer pump, let sit 24 hours). , then flushed all lines). Now no more garbage comes out of my water pipes and no garbage accumulates!
