I bought one of these and was hooked within the first 3 hours. Then I noticed that the mode would randomly switch from the fade setting to other modes or colors, even turning on and off by itself despite not pressing the remote or anything. And the remote is wired wrong, so half the time it doesn't work at all, and when it "WORKS", none of the buttons work as they should (e.g. red turned blue and vice versa). So I contacted customer service to inquire about a replacement and Revain did a great job of sending one out without having to go through the hassle of returning a defective one. Except that the replacement lightstrip I received didn't work AT ALL. I've tried completely different sets of batteries, both remotes, both battery compartments, swapped connector pins, and there wasn't even a flicker. I mean I knew they were cheap but I at least expected them to work even if they didn't. lasts a long time!
