Very easy to attach. I used a small flathead screwdriver to pry off the top retaining ring on my 2011 OEM rx350 hood lifter and it worked. Twisted the bottom of the rack and it fell off. Grabbed the new jacks and simply slid them onto the protruding balls without touching their locking rings. I applied some silicone spray to the lift (the part that goes into the structure when closed) and closed the hood. He opened the hood from inside the car, stepped forward, and released the safety latch. The hood popped up by itself. Very easy
