I was under the impression these stands were made in Canada but they are not. While they are sturdy and relatively easy to assemble, after spending an hour putting this thing together I noticed that the finish on both bases was defaced or washed out or otherwise smudged on what is otherwise a good product with a solid reputation . Conclusion: I expected a lot more for this price! and i'm generally disappointed with this experience, it weighs a lot so i won't take it apart and repack it. My humble advice: check out the finish in good light while it's still in the box before you start assembling it.
