Review on Cold Steel Sure Flight Sport BLACK - The Ultimate Throwing Knife, One Size by Chad Blanchet

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value for money multi-purpose throwing knife

This review is for the 12 inch Sure Flight sporting knife. The photos show what they look like after the black coating has been stripped off onto bare steel. I'd rather reach for steel than paint.* Pros: A solid knife with only a lanyard hole at the end of the handle. The weight seems appropriate. Good for a variety of styles. They are surprisingly good at throwing standard non-spin. The price is so cheap that you can just drop it without hesitation. Random notches are smoothed out slightly. Note: I find the 12" model to be lighter than the 10" model. I think it's the weight difference. I would like the 10" model to be 4mm or 5mm thick to give them a bit more weight. *Cons: These appear to vary by production run. I have 3 of these, all bought separately last month (yes I should have bought a set and saved $3). Edge 2 remained rough after punching and edge 3 was sanded on all sides. The 2 in the photos side by side were bought 4 days apart but they are completely different. Not only smooth edges, but even the tip is sharpened a little differently. It doesn't really affect anything, but keep that in mind when you buy. I wish all 3 had smooth ground edges, like my third one. And the Sanded Edge version also had a much smoother coat of paint. Although the paint has been removed in the same way as the other two.
