I don't know if this item is defective or not. it works very well from low to medium to high. But if I shift high to medium or low. Apparently the controller is not working. It's still in high mode. he can't go back. it is strange.! I'll try again. When I set it to low mode it works very well. Then I set it to medium mode. The controller increases the speed. Then I set it to high mode. It increases speed. it works fine but when i turn the knob back to medium mode it's still in high mode nothing happens. no speed reduction. then i turn the knob to low. same speed in high mode. is it broken? I can drive forward, not backward. Is something wrong with the item? 9/26/2020 I just found out why my controller isn't working. The user manual is missing a piece of information that gets the controller working. This is a VR switch. If you open the back you will see a switch or variable resistor with a groove adjustment button. Use a screwdriver to make adjustments. follow the instructions. Turn the knob to the "Low” position and then switch to the VAR position. So when you turn the rotary switch, it's now variable mode. the way I get the controller to work. Use caution when matching live circuits. Or you can turn it off and adjust it clockwise a little and then test it. Until you are satisfied
