Insufficient threads for durability.
The product looked good, but when I screwed it into a new filter to test fit, two things became apparent: 1- the diameter of the sealing surface was about 1/4” smaller than it should be and just barely contacted the inner part of the filter seal, but still may have sealed, and 2- most importantly, the threads are truncated, which means that due to the missing threads at the beginning, I only had about 1/2 of 1 thread engagement, which would not have lasted long and probably would have pulled out if screwed on tight.
Back to China it goes.
- Worked exactly as described for my 2012 ram 2500 6.7.
- The 57180 Oil Filter Plug Tool is expensive
