Make sure your part is identical, don't just trust your car's installation guide.

I bought this part because the Fit Check manual said it would fit a 2004 Elantra GLS, ok it fits but doesn't match the original part. One of the bars was installed differently than mine. I had to modify it to make it work, it was a pain and I regret buying this part because it took a lot of work and modifications to get it working. Had it not been for the fact that I couldn't leave the door latch open when buying another, I would have sent it back and bought a replacement from a junkyard instead. I kept the original part just in case as I don't really trust this part, the door is now harder to close, the plastic cover on the latch is showing signs of wear and small pieces of the plastic cover are coming out. out of. I will most likely be buying a used or new OEM replacement soon. The part is inexpensive compared to the OEM, the powerlock part works well, if the bars were in the correct position that fits my car it would be an inexpensive alternative to at least get your latch and powerlocks working. So your best bet is to take the old part off, compare it to the pictures and really analyze and make sure the stem positions are the same as your part. Didn't want to mess around with removing the complicated part, comparing and waiting for the part to arrive when the latch was removed from my door, so I took a chance and lost.
