I really wanted to like these walkie talkies but unfortunately they are just "mda". They may suit you, but read below before you buy. Here are some positives: 1) Audio is very clear as long as you are within range. 2) Wearable devices seem to be quite strong and durable. 3) It includes a weather alert function. However, I doubt its functionality due to the range issues described below. 4) They are very cheap in price. However, these radios have some pretty major disadvantages. Listen to this very carefully or you will be VERY disappointed: 1) 23 mile range, yes that's true. Not even close. In an open field with no trees or obstacles, the range was much less than 1 mile. 2) Batteries are pure garbage. Plan to replace them with quality rechargeable batteries. The included batteries last about 20 minutes in standby mode. 3) The design that makes it strong also makes the radio quite bulky. It doesn't fit in your pocket and the belt clip is complete junk. 4) The menu for setting up the device is quite unwieldy and difficult to navigate. Although this is typical of lower end radios. If you plan to use them at home or in a shop, they're fine. If you're planning on using them for camping, hiking, or keeping in touch with the kids in your neighborhood, you're going to be VERY disappointed.
