Range not as good as you think

We wanted these radios when my wife and friends followed each other on trips. Basically, they worked when we were close, but as soon as we separated even a short distance, we couldn't connect. Turned into a disaster when my stalking wife had an apartment. Her attempt to call me failed and we found ourselves in a difficult situation.

Having used various models of similar products in the past, I expected to be able to hear what was being transmitted from phone to phone. I decided my previous experience with Cobra products was enough to continue and after reading the reviews I purchased this set for our trip. I was very disappointed with their performance. It's hard to hear. Short Haul

I've had Cobra walkie talkies for a few years but I left the last bit in the batteries and destroyed them so I figured it was time to upgrade anyway. I had 4 (2.2 pack), on 4 machines I had to keep repeating myself, even at max volume. One day 2 trailers came between us and it was just warped. If I held the lock button down for too long it switched to the weather channel (I think) but was only 100% static and I had to take out the batteries to stop it. Cobra radios aren't what they used to be.

I really wanted to like these walkie talkies but unfortunately they are just "mda". They may suit you, but read below before you buy. Here are some positives: 1) Audio is very clear as long as you are within range. 2) Wearable devices seem to be quite strong and durable. 3) It includes a weather alert function.
