I've had other traditional cable lubes before. All leaked heavily and often failed to lubricate the cable. The lube bag and rubber band method worked better. This leaks a small allowable amount and lubricates the cable from end to end! There are some limitations. You will need an end of the cable that is shaped to fit and seal in the oil can. My bike's throttle cable only connects to the grease at the end of the carburetor. You may need to separate both ends of the cable to pull the end of the cable back far enough for the grease to find the fitting and the remaining cable. Helpful Tip: Cut the end of the hose coming out of the lube can at an angle. so that the pointed end slides easily into the grease fitting. I only used it for motorcycle cables. Haven't tried it on my bike cables yet. I'll update when I do. Smaller cables tend to be more problematic cables when it comes to leak-free lubrication.
