Review on ProCaliber Products 10 11 711 Granite Syringe by Allen Hart

Disappointing results on black granite. --- This review is for use of the product on black granite only --- "I didn't expect miracles from this product; I expected it to 1) fill a few shallow pits and chips in my black granite kitchen island 2) clean to a reasonably good finish with no clear or obvious signs of repairs. While the product seals well, it has been noted by other reviewers that cure times are at least 2, if not 3 times longer than the instructions state. The biggest frustration so far has been the behavior of the product once cured when used on BLACK GRANITE. The surface is slightly sticky after curing. The surface was cleaned with acetone according to the instructions. However, when used on BLACK granite, ANY sanding or buffing with the materials provided will impregnate the work area with sandpaper dust and white buffing material, presumably because there is no way to remove 100% tack. As a result, using a polishing cloth not only restores the shine, but also removes grinding and polishing residue from the sticky surface. Ultimately, you have no choice but to lightly polish the surface. below the level to remove the remains of the grinding process. Either that, or you're left with white patches on your black granite that are more unsightly than the pits and pits underneath you started with. A black granite kit with black sandpaper for sanding (much finer grit) and a clear polish (I don't know what to recommend) would improve this kit by orders of magnitude. results in all situations; I just want the manufacturer to advertise "Not recommended for use on black granite/stone". It would save me a lot of trouble.
