Review on Supermicro SuperServer E300 8D Mini 1U D 1518 by Jesus Carlson

This server is the perfect home lab server if you can stand some noise and I'm not talking about a dull roar, it is more of a high-pitched screech. The server itself is in such a great form factor that I understand why the cooling needs to be the way it is. I was able to run VMWare with multiple VMs without breaking a sweat. The VMs were medium sized (2 CPUs, 4GB memory each) - only 5 VMs with utilization around 20%. Period of time. If you have a closet or space to put this server that would be great.
