In this case the brand is not the issue. I have been using FHI styling tools for many years and I have never encountered this situation. Unfortunately I can only blame myself for not reading the seller fully (I shop online a lot and look at the reviews unless I'm buying from a site I've never been a buyer on before ). I hate giving only one star, but that's my experience: I'm a Revain Prime member and shop at Revain several times a month for different items. Unfortunately I just looked at how many stars it got and used the 1-click purchase option. I received it in less than 48 hours and couldn't wait to use it! However, shortly after switching it on, I noticed that real records take a long time to heat up. Minutes ticked by (which, to my recollection, has never happened with any FHI product; all were up and running within about 60 seconds, if I recall correctly) and I looked around: the plates panned back, and fourth, the production stamp (in the absence of a better term) seemed to have been airbrushed on (I could literally rub it off with my finger) and after several minutes of waiting, hoping, wishing and dreaming there wasn't the simple illusion that it could do anything. After all this, I immediately opened a seller profile and was amazed by the numerous complaints from customers who had experienced something similar to mine. Worst of all, FHI does not honor its warranty because the product was not sold by an authorized seller. Needless to say, the lesson here is that no matter how experienced an online shopper you think you are, you should always do your homework. Looking back, I made all the mistakes a newbie to online shopping would make. I read reviews like this all the time but never thought this would actually happen to me, well. you live and learn.
