So far so good, seems soft and our baby seems to like it too! I've only had it for a few weeks so can't say for sure if it works on the flat part of her little head. As a reminder, it's not washable, so I'd recommend getting a cover for it if you're concerned about getting too dirty. My baby had a few drools and drools but got away with a slightly damp towel. Our pediatrician agrees as long as we only use it for supervised daytime naps. She doesn't like pillows at night as she is only 2 months old. I took off a comfort star just because it feels a little warmer to the touch after taking it off, which I think is natural for any pillow after use. I think I personally like cooler pillows. But it seems quite soft and still holds its shape even though she's been using it every day for several weeks now. Another thing I like about it is that it helps her stay in one place. I've noticed that when she's sleeping with a pillow she's often thrashing and kicking around and sometimes getting close to the bars and just doesn't want her to hit her. But it helped that she stopped with a pillow. I like it so far!
