I'm sure that with over 1000 reviews on this product not many people will see this review but I just wanted to appreciate my 3.5 years of experience. this device every day. I owned two of these, lost one and missed it so much that I made a few purchases and decided to buy the same model again. Although Money Magazine named it the #1 pedometer, I liked it for the following reasons: 1. Using a pedometer of any kind has been a huge motivator for me to consistently move toward and achieve my walking goals. Using the aerobic step count feature gave me the incentive to keep my pace in the aerobic zone and walk a little longer at a brisk pace to meet my goals each day. Since you need to be in the aerobic zone for at least 10 minutes, this also gives you an incentive to move at a good pace for at least 10 minutes, otherwise the steps will just register as normal steps. When I first set my goal of walking 10,000 steps a day a few years ago, it was "unusual" for me to walk that much in one day and I'm sure I would have cut a few corners , if I had thought that, I had walked more aerobic steps than I did. It was. If I hadn't had that pedometer to check back then, I might not have changed my lifestyle as much as I do today. However, over time I've gotten so used to my different walking paths and body sensations that I have a pretty good idea of how many steps I'm taking per minute at a given pace, even without checking it with a pedometer. But it's taken thousands of miles and I had to double-check with this handy little device to see that level of confidence - at the same time it just did its thing and gave me an extra little incentive, the pace and distance I was doing shot to maintain . until it became a way of life for me.2. Although rarely used I will say that the software that comes with this particular model is much appreciated. It was great for checking progress over time and planning future goals. However, there is one thing about the software. After losing one and buying the same model again, I figured I could just sync it to my computer and track my steps over time. Anyone in the same predicament might want to know that this is not the case, and you either want to create a new "profile" in the software to track your new progress in the future, or be ready to do so accept Using the same profile name will permanently overwrite all your old history which can be a real bummer! can you guess what i did :) If you're looking at a few different models of pedometers and trying to decide which one to buy, here are some of my thoughts: 1. Be sure to consider choosing a model that can accurately count your steps, regardless of whether you wear it in a shirt or in your back pocket. Unless you're much more organized than I am, you might lose a typical belt clip after a few hundred miles, but if you get a good pedometer, that shouldn't be a problem. Decide if you want to set goals and track progress over time? If so, are you a disciplined person who will actually record that progress EVERY day, or are you more like me and would appreciate the opportunity to go as far as you want? 42 days!. In the meantime, are you thinking of plugging this thing into your computer at least once for absolutely accurate daily stats on your running, cycling and/or walking progress? Some ways to improve this device: 1. It would be nice if the pedometer that does everything this pedometer does could also track and track heart rate information and upload it to the computer. It would also be nice if it were at least moderately waterproof – a friend broke the same model while jogging in the rain.
