Saved over $300 on repairs. Tremendous value compared to individual parts.
My drum bearings were metal to metal. I installed a kit that also includes a new belt and door seal and nothing seemed to have happened. No more squeaking and rattling. If you have enough hands, the installation is not that difficult. There are good guides on the GE website and 3rd party YouTubers. A repair by such a mechanic would cost over $300. Individual parts from the parts store would cost me 3x more than the kit. If you or someone you know can install it, it's definitely not a problem.
