Review on Children's smart watch HUAWEI Watch Kids 4 Pro Wi-Fi, blue by Wiktor Wnkowicz ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I recommend to buy, the product is of high quality.

After buying the watch, you need to create a Huawei account (the watch cannot be activated without it). Registration failed - "account to your number is already registered". About 10 years ago I had a Huawei P10 smartphone and had an account on it. The password has long been forgotten. I'm trying to recover via SMS. The code comes, I enter it. For recovery, they offer: - enter the exact (!) date of registration of the account; - select the models of all devices on which the account was used; - enter the IMEI codes of all these devices (!); I thought that I was imagining all this, I wrote to the technical support chat (surprisingly, it exists and really works 24/7). Essence: - If you can't remember the account registration date and IMEI of your old phones, then we can unlink your number from your account so that you register a new one for yourself. - Great, let's untie! - Then send us an official request with a scan of the main page of the passport; a screenshot from the personal account of the mobile operator, where the number and full name are visible; details of all calls and SMS for the last 3 months. I wiped my glasses (did not believe my eyes), called the hotline (by the way, it works 24/7), asked if everything was in order with the support service in the chat and how they were feeling. He said that the passport and call details are personal data in its purest form. He put the operator into a stupor with the question of what should I do if my number is corporate. Waited 20 minutes while they figured out what to do in this case. They agreed that I should still send them a request with a detailed description of the situation, attach a passport and all the same details for 3 months. There is nothing to do, not someone else's number to bind. Sent, examined (3 days), the number was untied, an account was created, everything worked. But the feeling that I was in a circus remained. Bottom line: a high-quality device that reliably performs the declared functions is large / expensive, the camera would be better and the sensor for removing it from the hand. And if there were a normal procedure for restoring access to the parent account, then there would be no price! I recommend to buy!

Pros
  • I came to buying branded watches after trying three "cheap" options: Aimoto Pro Life 4G, Elari KidPhone 4G and Smart Baby Watch LT31E 4G with a price tag of 4000 to 6999. So, compared to them and other "cheap" Huawei Watch Kids 4 Pro This: 1. High-quality plastic case and strap; 2. Indeed water protection (this can be seen even by the quality of the plug and seal of the SIM tray); 3. A good, bright, "juicy" screen that does not glare in the sun with a high (for a watch) resolution. In comparison with other models - heaven and earth; 4. The sound of the built-in speaker and microphone, active noise reduction is clearly present. The voice from the clock is loud, clear, without rattling. The child can also be heard clearly through the clock. 5. A high-quality wireless communication module - a good signal level in places where communication is traditionally not very good. When transmitting speech - no "stammering"; 6. Camera. I took it to the merits only because, having looked at two dozen watches in stores and tried three models at home, today there is nothing better in children's watches. Camera capabilities for video communication - enough, but no more. The subjective quality of the images is average (maybe a 5MP matrix, but its quality is very mediocre). Autofocus - long and inaccurate, in poor lighting - lathers and makes noise. 7. Location - 5 out of 5. This was one of the main criteria. Apparently thanks to a good wireless module (it's not for nothing that Huawei produces equipment for cellular base stations) - everything is fast and accurate. Tried outdoors, indoors. Please note that in large shopping centers the location will be determined poorly on the first (!) time of visiting with a clock. When you come a second time, it will be much more accurate. This applies to all large concrete buildings where GPS does not work. 8. App for parents on Android and iOS - 5 out of 5. Intuitive, easy to set up, works well. 9. The battery lasts for 2-3 days.
Cons
  • Now for the disadvantages: 1. The watch is really big, especially for a girl. I agree that the size is determined by the screen, but then why such huge (!) Frames around it, especially above and below. And why such a terrible thickness? With modern technology, watches can be made much more compact: after all, smart watches for adults, which have much more functionality, have much smaller dimensions. Attached are photos showing: - thickness comparison with Huawei P20 smartphone; - comparison in thickness and dimensions with Apple Watch 6; - comparison on the arm with a massive men's watch. 2. There is no sensor for removing the watch from the hand. And this is in the most expensive children's device for today for 13,000! A penny infrared sensor, technically elementary installed in a watch - but it is not. Moreover, the presence of this sensor is much more important than the body temperature / pulse / pressure sensor present in competitors. The measurement error of such sensors is so great that having received information about the pressure and pulse from the child's watch, this very pressure will jump from fear in parents. Yes, and the instructions honestly write that this is NOT a medical device, and you do not need to focus on its indications. 3. Lack of wireless charging. This is a complete failure. And as a bonus - a charging cord with its own magnetic connector, which we sell for 699 per piece. But on a well-known site, our Chinese friends ship 50 in free shipping. I advise you to order immediately, since the only lace tends to get lost. The watch also fits laces from Huawei Band 6/Band 6 Pro, Huawei Watch Fit, Honor Watch ES and Honor Band 6. 4. The inability to change the basis of maps (to or Google) in the parent application. Established maps lack detail and relevance. If you are in your city - no problem. If in someone else's - then you can get confused. 5. The quality of video calls - the flow slows down, it's uncomfortable to communicate. I really hope that technical support is not lying that "a temporary problem and it will be solved soon."
