Review on πŸ“· Tamron SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Canon DSLR Lens (6 Year Limited USA Warranty) by Athit Eakapapan ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I am completely satisfied, item complies with description.

I specifically sold the Tamron 24-70 of the first generation (which is A007), as it sucked dust. The sharpness of the new one (A032) is noticeably higher, not according to MTF, but according to live photos with hair, leaves, and so on. Vignetting is significantly better (in the sense that it is smaller) at the wide end and full hole. The monolithic body with seals inspires confidence in use and the fear of gouging it by accident disappears. I recommend it as the main regular zoom. If you have an old tamron (A007), then you don’t have to go over without special need.

Pros
  • Excellent razor sharpness across the entire field at almost all focal lengths. Minimal vignetting at wide angles. Dust and moisture protection. An excellent stabilizer, it is difficult to confirm or refute claims that it is 4 stops better, but subjectively it is much better than the previous one.
Cons
  • At the ends of 24 mm and 70 mm, with a fully open aperture, it β€œsoaps” (however, not much worse than the same Sigma or native Nikon). The main problem with the calibration of phase detection autofocus on the D750. I had to buy a docking station and spend a lot of time on calibration - now it's razor sharp. When focusing through LiveView, of course, there is no such problem.
