I bought this cable to extend my 3.5mm earpods for my Macbook Pro. I've been using the cable for several months with no known issues on my end and during a web meeting someone asked me who does the buzzing. Later, after some testing, I found that it was coming from the extension cord. No matter which headphones I used - the problem lies in the cable extension. It is unusable as intended. If you only need it for audio, that's fine. If you plan to use headphones with a built-in microphone, I would caution against it.
