I wasn't expecting an accurate weapon, but I was expecting something better. It was advertised as a "diamond jewelry measuring tool". The scale was far off and the error wasn't even linear. It increased by about 60% at 1 mm, by 50% at 2 mm and by up to 10% at 9 mm. Although the scale increased to 10mm, the jaws only opened to 9mm. If the error was at least linear across the range, I was able to correct it by carefully lightly filing one of the caliper shoes. The whole point of buying a caliper calibrated in millimeters (actually, the scale is calibrated in tenths of a millimeter!) is that you want to make some fairly accurate small measurements. I have no idea if any of these cheap devices work better, but it wasn't even worth the few bucks I paid.
