I work in IT and electronics. I have lots of wires, settings, components and more that need to be marked. For 2 decades, my trusted label printer "brother" worked fine, but there were many problems. Fonts, for one, can't write ohms, superscripts, or much more outside of traditional AZ, and even if a character is there, it's hard to find unless you use it a lot. I also had to be very careful to make sure the settings were set correctly. I was looking for a better solution and came across DYMO - a bit pricey but they convinced me of the ability to print on shrink wrap - something I have yet to test. . Because when it arrived I was amazed at how easy it was to create cable labels and patch panel labels, manage fonts, sizes and dimensions. Hell, I can say how wide I want my label and it will automatically adjust the print size! It saves so much time. It's durable, rechargeable, and very easy to change labels (the Brother model often ate labels that needed cleaning and "fixing"). I can have very broad labels in it, very narrow ones, and just be productive. It has extensive fonts for all types of work, including electronics and cable labels. You can even print barcodes! The only thing that might be needed is the ability to upload a file with a bunch of data that I need to print on labels, but I'm sure it's there - I just haven't found it yet. Another thing I like is that when printing copies, it pauses between each copy so you can cut off the label. No more scissors! The price is worth it! Edit: I still love this model - after 6 months it has become much easier to create labels for electronic things. However, a couple of downsides I found out. You cannot change the label spacing. While I appreciate the spacing between the label content and the cut which makes for a very nice center label, I end up with a lot of wasted labels - on many of my labels over half the roll of labels is wasted this way. And it cannot be reduced. Especially when I need to print a series of values I can't use "Insert" because there is a big space between each label. I just want to print out a long list and cut it myself. However, since I need to print two numbers separated by a line break on each print (great feature), this label maker really doesn't have a choice. I have to use my old Brother label printer to make this without a lot of label waste. Another feature I missed is the lack of a sub/super script. You can't write exponents, which is really useful in some use cases, but the 5200 doesn't have a way to do that. You superscripted characters with 2 and 3, but that's it. Overall I'm still very happy with it, but I had to downgrade my rating by one star to clear up a few "bright" missing features.
