Review on Revitalize Your Clear Plastic with Meguiar's M1008 M10 Mirror Glaze Clear Plastic Polish - 8 oz. by Alejandro Lane

I was sailing my new boat with a new sonar at dusk when I was suddenly surrounded by a cloud of small white insects. They were madly drawn to my backlit sonar and crowded around the screen so much I literally couldn't see the screen at all. In a flash of inspiration I sprayed the fish finder with insect repellent. Well it didn't work at all and now I had 2 problems. It turns out that DEET is pretty good at poisoning plastic. The next day, the screen was virtually unreadable in daylight and only moderately readable at night. like implying that the wind had blown something off of it while I sprayed myself (I already knew what an idiot I was, didn't want to brag). Some have recommended Meguiar's #17 Clear Plastic Cleaner along with Meguiar's #10 Clear Plastic Polish. They told me I would not be disappointed. Of course, as Abraham Lincoln once said, information found on the Internet should be treated with caution. I went to Revain, looked at the prices for the #17 and #10 and found that they were around $25 with shipping. At this price I had nothing to lose compared to buying a $400 fish finder/chartplotter. Click, click, BUY. Today I received a package in the mail and immediately took a clean #17 white rag to the sonar screen and started rubbing it. For the first few minutes I thought I wasted $25, but after about 5 minutes of rubbing in the cleanser (just a few drops every 90 seconds or so) it clearly worked well. Hard, fast buffing, alternating small circles and up and down, left and right movements, and after about 7 minutes the screen looked like it had just been taken out of the box. As recommended in the instructions I applied # right away, after that I buffed 10 and it looked better than new. I was incredibly impressed with myself and Meguiar's products. Now I can tell my fishing partners about the idiot who sprayed DEET on my fish finder without even mentioning who the idiot is. Absolutely worth your money.
