Revitalize Your Clear Plastic with Meguiar's M1008 M10 Mirror Glaze Clear Plastic Polish - 8 oz. Review

I bought this to try and remove 10 year old window tint and it did that and more. My factory tint was pretty worn down from 10 years of dirt on the window frame and this polish cleaned it up right away. I was so impressed I decided to machine polish all the clear plastic! My plastic window visors are like new now!

This product is VERY disappointed! Rather than actually polishing the plastic, only treated castor oil is used to temporarily appear as if it improves clarity. Following the directions carefully, I used a little to redo the clear plastic on the headlights. The next day the clarity was gone and the headlights were the same as before. I plan to contact Meguiar's to make a formal complaint about what I believe to be misleading marketing practices.

For whatever reason, be it a car wash or dirty air and wind, one of my headlights broke. And this light has been quite new in the last two years. It took a light sanding and a few cans of it. It looks almost new again. I am not a perfectionist when it comes to improving something that is already a bit worn on an old car, but if you do it carefully there will be a very good result. It looked great with the little time I spent on it. A good product.

Combined with drillable polishing pads and polishing paste. This stuff worked great on the final headlight restoration for a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. I must have tried 3 different headlight restoration kits and building my own kit is the only one that gave me the results I wanted. This stuff still works great as a final lens coating for my headlights. Still crystal clear after 2 months. Will be updated with changes to this status as necessary.

I give this product five stars, but I have to admit that most of the hard work in this positive review has gone into Meguiar's M17 Mirror Glaze Clear Plastic. I used this polish to clean the headlights and rock on Porsches after polishing them with Meguiar's M17 Plastic Cleaner: Meguiar's M17 Mirror Glaze Clear Plastic Cleaner - 8 oz. . Bought this with Meguiar's M17 to clean some of my Jeep Wrangler's scratched and fogged windows. It did a great job when paired with a Craftsman Random Orbit Buffer that I bought locally. This not only reduced the appearance of minor scratches, but also almost eliminated the fogging left by other cleaners and from the natural weathering of the clear plastic. I was sailing my new boat with a new sonar at dusk when I was suddenly surrounded by a cloud of small white insects. They were madly drawn to my backlit sonar and crowded around the screen so much I literally couldn't see the screen at all. In a flash of inspiration I sprayed the fish finder with insect repellent. Well it didn't work at all and now I had 2 problems. It turns out that DEET is pretty good at poisoning plastic. The next day, the screen was virtually unreadable in daylight and only
