I'm more of a novice when it comes to listening to more midrange speakers. I started my system in 1997 with 10" Cerwin Vega VS-100 speakers and found at the time they had too much bass. Then I loved them. I bought these Energy speakers after seeing them at a nationwide discount electronics store I had heard. I immediately decided they sounded better than the Polk TSX 440 series I was thinking of. I was right. They sound a lot better, but I feel like they lack some mid-low definition and clarity. not as clear as I would like to hear it. However I have a fairly inexpensive receiver and am hoping to get more clarity with an upgrade. I've only been listening to it for about 40 hours so I need 60 more hours to get into the Energy recommended Time windows to get to a 100 hour break I hope they open up more however for the price I bought them I think they are great speakers.
