Great sound, great price: These speakers are awesome!

The RC series makes excellent speakers, especially for the price. These speakers have a high quality construction using solid materials. The sound is quite warm and quite to my liking. Although this is an older, discontinued model, I can't say the speakers have evolved to the point of being "outdated". They are fantastic and offer plenty of range and power to keep my home theater and home stereo in tip-top shape for years to come.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Modern

Need a better package

I bought 2 of these speakers to replace a pair that are over 30 years old. They work great as part of my surround sound system, but the packaging was inadequate considering how shippers handle it. Not only were the boxes torn apart, but the feet of both speakers were so broken that they could no longer be repaired and were unusable. Luckily, they're not required, so don't ask for a refund or replacement. One of the speakers had a small scratch, but it didn't affect what the speaker was designed

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Almost everything is included

Great speakers over speakers

I have a few of these and after the recommended downtime I've used the CD; "stereophile test CD 3", track 20. They are incredible speakers. I only use Direct Pass Through on my amp (Yamaha) as any other setting just adds something to the true sound of media and music or H/T that we can hear. I've heard many other towers and for this price you can't go wrong! To get close to that, you'd have to go to $2,000 a share, and then I think you'd reach the point where the yield starts to decrease…

Nice sound to crack.

I'm more of a novice when it comes to listening to more midrange speakers. I started my system in 1997 with 10" Cerwin Vega VS-100 speakers and found at the time they had too much bass. Then I loved them. I bought these Energy speakers after seeing them at a nationwide discount electronics store I had heard. I immediately decided they sounded better than the Polk TSX 440 series I was thinking of. I was right. They sound a lot better, but I feel like they lack some mid-low definition and…

Hands down the best speaker for the money

You just can't get any better for the money. The RC collection has been around since 2005 when EVERY tower sold for $1,000. These days, this speaker can often be found on sale for a lot less. And since speaker technology has evolved much more slowly than computer technology, these speakers are still considered fantastic devices and will remain so for years to come. Build quality is top notch, with buttery smooth premium real wood veneer and huge woofers driving each speaker (a tweeter the size…

  • Good for many

Best Speakers In This Price Range

I had been tuning the Cerwin Vega CMX 7.1 series for about 6 months and they were good speakers, but I've always wanted Energy RC/Veritas speakers and ended up getting them to a great find cheap price. justified prices. The Energy RC-70 speakers are excellent and I believe they were rated the best speakers under $2000 (pair) in 2007. They require a long break (I had about 80-100 hours) and while I was at work they played chilled lounge music. They didn't sound very good right out of the box…

  • Delicious

  • Rumpled

Simply incredible sound. Couldn't be better for a double $$$!

I doubt I will ever buy a set of floorstanding speakers again, they are that good. When I do, I'll scour the earth for another pair of these. audiophile level. Worth every penny of the MSRP of $1,000 each. Less than $500 each and you're getting tremendous value. I took advantage of the great promotional price and am thrilled. They are ELITE because they consist of two parts with high quality music and amplifiers. They spoil you with a wide, great soundstage. Everything sounds perfectly…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • There are some nuances

Great for music and movies: Energy RC70 + LCR + RCR + RC10

I've been an audiophile for about 4 decades. Over the years I have used better quality speakers from AR, JBL, Ohm. I finally settled on a Carver ALS-3+ over 15 years ago and have been very happy with it without even thinking about replacing it. I've owned a home cinema system since the early days of surround sound. Speakers in this system included Advent, Boston Acoustic, Jamo, Mirage, Polk Audio, and Yamaha. I've never paid much attention to Energy speakers because they're not a very household
