Review on Minka-Aire F582-GL Rainman 54 inch Outdoor 🌬️ Ceiling Fan: Galvanized Finish with Integrated Caged Light by Darrin Lucas

Revised 3/2015UPDATE. I installed new capacitor banks on both fans and they work much better now. It looks like they either came with poor packaging or the contractor who built the porch somehow mixed them both up during installation. I contacted the manufacturer and explained what was going on. Their CS dept was helpful and actually sent me capacitor units for free after years of installing them. I inserted them myself, and now the fans are turning directional revolutions. Now I love these fans and I want to correct my previous poor review of the product. If anyone has trouble with this, take a look at RPM. If they're around 60 and don't change or change very little between speeds, get a new capacitor pack. I left in my previous review so anyone reading this won't get confused. These are good fans that move a lot of air when working properly. I bought two of these for a small coin for a screened porch we built a few years ago. They are absolutely beautiful fans. You look great. They move almost no air and don't seem to get anyone anywhere near their rated speed or airflow. After spending close to $1,000 to install I find it almost useless and very disappointed (we have 10 other ceiling fans around the house so this isn't my first install). The fans are not exposed to the elements but the code calls for waterproof fans for outdoor installation so I cannot comment on the durability of the finish like others, mine is still fine after 3 years. I wish I liked these more. I spent too much money on them to be that dissatisfied.
