Review on 1 TB External HDD Toshiba Canvio Slim, USB 3.2 Gen 1, silver by Adam Szczelewski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am delighted, the product is really worthy.

I was looking for a compact and metal disk for 1 TB. Chose between Toshiba canvio alu and slim. I settled on Slim as it is lighter and more compact. Comes with CD, cable and instructions. The cable is good quality and tight. The drive is formatted with NTFS from the factory. When working via USB 2.0, the LED lights up in white, and when USB 3.0 it turns blue. It's annoying that the indicator shines through the end of the disk, it's unpleasant in the evening. During operation, there are no vibrations at all, it makes noise only if you bring it close to your ear. There is a feature with power, when idle, it stops and goes out, but it is displayed in the explorer (maybe this is critical for someone, but not for me). I plan to use this disk as a storage / backup. I hope it works for a long time)

Pros
  • 1. Design. Nice brushed metal case. It looks solid and evokes the feeling of a quality product. 2. Compactness. Thin and light disc, fits even in a shirt pocket. 3. Speed of work. Acceptable hard drive write and read speed. 4. Silence and temperature. Doesn't get hot or click like some hard drives. 6. Price. I took for 3277.
Cons
  • 1. The LED shines through the case where it is not needed. 2. In my opinion, impact resistance. It is so tiny that even a fall from a small height (and indeed any physical impact) is unlikely to survive.

Has pros: Appearance, quiet operation Cons below: Instead of 1 TB, 930 GB. They cheated by as much as 70GB, and this, for example, is two flash drives of 32GB, 400-500 each.
