I can't tell you how frustrating it is to receive a defective unit. I scheduled a weekend when my family's electrician would be in town to do this installation (I wasn't confident enough to do it myself). ) The light did not work. As we continued troubleshooting, we found that the ballast (not mentioned in any instructions, by the way) was defective. Due to cutting wires needed to turn off the original lights, I now have wires hanging from the ceiling until we find a fix. So far this is the worst purchase I've ever made. Avoid at all costs
