Screws Should Be Longer

Used only 3 for my 8’ privacy fence gate. Right now they are holding up the gate, but time will tell once they get exposed to weather. The 1” screws that came with it were too short for my taste so I replaced them with #14 2”.

Pros

Hinges were already rusted hen they arrived 2 days late by USPS.Hinges were supposed to be rustproof

Cons

The hinges may not be suitable for use in areas with high levels of salt or other corrosive materials
