Review on Enhanced Performance Brake Kit: Power Stop K5879 Z23 Carbon Fiber Brake Pads with Drilled & Slotted Front and Rear Brake Rotors by Mark Estrada

I bought this brake replacement kit for my 2007 Mazda CX-9 which I think had some of the worst stock brakes I've ever had, just because of the heavy pressure on the pedal to really stop it car fast. I've tried some EBC Red pads on the front only and while they (generally) stopped the car much better, they weren't balanced with the rear wheels, they didn't have much mileage and they're expensive! Next time I tried the red pads front and rear - it worked well but at this point the rotors started to vibrate and made the car shake under braking (mostly - which was weird). I've found that Mazda rotors are also Ford rotors and depending on the temperature can be flat or warped and cause vibration when broken. I lived with it way too long (too cheap I think! ;) eventually the dealer said I needed new rotors in the front (about 70,000 miles). That's when I started searching and researching online. I ended up giving them a try and I couldn't be happier. For now (full disclosure) I've only installed the front rotors and pads, but the changes have been significant. No more vibration (never!) Exactly what I want from a car and I can only imagine how the car will feel after the rear wheels are installed. By the way, the kit comes with all the parts for a clean install, which I liked. Can't speak to the lifespan of the pads yet, but when it comes time to replace the pads I will be using these! I like her so much!
