Enhanced Performance Brake Kit: Power Stop K5879 Z23 Carbon Fiber Brake Pads with Drilled & Slotted Front and Rear Brake Rotors Review

So far, after several days of use, I am very satisfied with the performance of the product. Pad installation was easy, however there were no instructions for the rotors.

Brake kit fits perfectly on 2009 Mazda CX9 with no modifications. The OEM rotor is short lived due to internal corrosion causing shaking. It's too early to say this rotor is better than the OEM, but it's worth a try.

Cons All rotors and pads came in a box and seemed to fall off resulting in damage to one rotor. On the positive side: Power-Stop customer service sends the replacement discs quickly and to the point. Another plus: These discs are very well made and improve OEM braking performance with shorter braking distances and fading. My only suggestion is to add 1/2" closed cell foam to protect the product.

As every CX9 owner knows, stock brakes aren't very good. I replaced all 4 rotors and pads on my 2011 CX9 for 105k. I live in Northern Virginia and here we drive at 65-70 mph towards each other. This is a car for day trips and family trips. The brakes are used. I am very happy with my purchase. 2 years later. Pads at 50% and according to dealer inspection. No vibrations, no strange noises and stops very well. I just passed 175k on my car. Will definitely buy another set when the time comes.

Rotors have a good finish, Pads come with all new SS hardware. Installed by mechanic, driven over 1000 miles. A noise will be heard, similar to the initial wear indicator of the rotor part spring. I really liked this brake kit for the first 4 months of use. They looked great and felt better in my opinion than the stock brakes they replaced. I bought this brake replacement kit for my 2007 Mazda CX-9 which I think had some of the worst stock brakes I've ever had, just because of the heavy pressure on the pedal to really stop it car fast. Wow. If I could give more stars I would! I installed them on my wife's 08 CX-9 Grand Touring about a month ago. Fits perfectly. The kit contains literally everything you need to replace rotors and pads. It also comes with a basic caliper kit. I mean base because there is NO new seal for the actual caliper piston.
