Review on Leatt Airflex Pro Knee Guards-Black-L: Ultimate Protection and Flexibility for Extreme Sports by John May

Great light knee pads great pedaling too thin mesh on back

I'm almost 6ft and about 170 surprisingly my height is large. Being thin I assumed a medium would fit best but decided to trust the measurements. They're a little tight, but not uncomfortable. As soon as I received them I wore them at home for about 2 hours and they are very comfortable. After that I measured my legs where they left marks above and below the knee. I could go up to XL which is weird. I took her on a walk of about 14 miles that took about 1 hour and 40 minutes. The pads are very comfortable and fun to pedal. I never had to adjust or tighten them. They sank a hair's breadth down my thigh, but my calves and arms wouldn't let them go any lower. I didn't fall but felt they protected my knees when they hit the top tube. The pads are great and the airflow is amazing. You can really feel the air being blown in! Time will tell as I squeeze into the ride as much as possible, but I really like these pads. I made a small hole in the rear grille and barely touched it with the pin on my flat pedals. This net is too thin I could see them tearing just walking through the tall prairie grass. That's the only reason I give 4 stars, for the price they need better material on the back of the knee.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power
