Review on Saicoo DOD Military USB Common Access CAC Smart Card Reader - Mac OS & Windows (Vertical Version) by Kyle Ross

CAC Reader: Card is very tight and not hanging loose -- A++

Every few months I use a new CAC card reader at work. The cables are damaged, the cards are not readable. I think it's safe to say that I have pretty high requirements for card readers. :X This is the best card reader I've ever used. I have to update this review after using it for a little longer, but for now I like how cozy the map is. Once inside, it definitely won't move unless you remove it on purpose. Fiction! Such an improvement in quality of life over other readers I've used. The price is great too. I used to have to pay $35 for the only model Best Buy sells when I urgently needed a card reader for work. It's much cheaper and better quality compared to that! It even came with one of those good Velcro cable managers. For such a cheap product, I found this to be a really nice bonus. I can take care of my cable and I hope this will prolong the life of the device. This time I've been cautious and ordered extras in case my card reader went down unexpectedly and without warning, as it often happens. The wired/USB connector on this reader will last at least 2 months, I will be very impressed and will never buy another model again. FYI, my work calls our cards "PIV" instead of CAC, but I believe they are the same (or close enough) and this device still worked fine.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Obsolete Model
