I had a problem installing this engine. I ordered what Intermatic lists as a replacement for my timer, but when I went to install it I found that it and the original motor are slightly different. The motor I ordered was this one, WG1573-10D. The engine I had was WD 1573-5. The old motor in my timer was WG1573-5E. The photos show that the metal protrusions on the motors are different. The old engine had an offset ledge (red), while the new engine had a ledge closer to center (blue). There was a hole in the mounting plate for the new motor, but no thread! Luckily I recently updated my tap and die set to accommodate full metric taps so I had the tool I needed to fix it. If this wasn't the case, I wouldn't be able to fit a new motor. I called Intermatic and the technician assured me that I had indeed purchased the correct replacement motor. manufacturing defect? UPDATE: This engine lasted less than a year; my timer stops. I replace the entire mechanical timer with an electronic one.
