Vehicle: 2009 BMW X5 E70 It's usually good for the part to snap easily into place, but not when it's an air filter. Anything that isn't snug all around lets dirt in, which is definitely *not* designed for an air cleaner. This requires a bit of care when installing to ensure it is seated properly on all sides and does not block the top of the airbox when reinstalled. I suggest inserting the back corners first and then going to the front corners and double checking to make sure no part of the seal is sticking out. If you're having trouble closing the latches, you've almost certainly missed a segment. Next time I need an air filter for my X5 I'll know exactly what to buy.
