I bought a roll of EternaBond 2" and two rolls of Butyl Beech Lane 4". Beech Lane tape is a lot cheaper and I needed more - which is why I went in that direction. Having used both brands, I can say this: EternaBond is "better" than Beech Lane, but I wouldn't say it's "better". I found that the plastic backing of the EternaBond came off the reel more easily, the butyl material felt firmer and thicker, and the white material on top was smoother. So yeah, it's more fun. The Beech Lane's plastic insert is difficult to separate from the butyl. Additionally, Eternabond stayed stronger than Beech Lane in broad daylight. EternaBond is really good and I enjoyed using it. I needed 2" of tape, so I ordered EternaBond. All things being equal, however, I like the value of the Beech Lane tape. If "ease of use" is your primary concern, I would suggest going with EternaBond. Removing that plastic backing can can be a challenge especially in hot weather. With Beech Lane it was quite difficult but not impossible. If you are on a budget and want good quality sealing tape then Beech Lane is definitely the right choice. Both tapes gave a good strong bond and I am satisfied with the roof repair on my motorhome.
