Mediocre Smart RBG LED Strip Kit

I've been using SmartHome products for over 10 years, very close to when they were manufactured and widely used were . A few years later, I began testing, reviewing, and writing about these products for several unbiased comparison sites. With experience in this particular field, I have an extensive knowledge base in smart lighting. There are several considerations to consider when choosing the right smart lighting for a specific situation. Dozens of led strip brands in the past 10 years. I've followed advances in technology, understood the most likely areas for product failure, and what sets the best LED strips apart. Mood light, no work or reading light. the presence of an IC control chip - although many of the images in the listings appear to show this, this is intentionally misleading. An IC chip allows for rainbow colors, animation effects and a whole host of special effects - this set will do none of that. The materials that make up this HBN Smart WiFi LED Strip are quite high quality. The rubber surrounding the LED bulbs is quite thick but very flexible. 3M tape is standard on these smart lightstrips, although people regularly have trouble sticking them. The best advice I can give is to thoroughly clean the surface to which the light will be attached first. I first wipe down with a typical cleaning product like a Lysol wipe, then dry thoroughly and then wipe down with an alcohol wipe. Personally I don't use 3M double sided tape for attaching jigs as it can come loose. I recommend Gorilla Glue double-sided tape, which is guaranteed to keep your lights in place until you move them. although white light is not possible with this set. While the colors are a lot less vibrant compared to the Hue. Comparing Smart Life app to Phillips Hue or LIFX apps, Phillips Hue and LIFX apps are much more reliable and user-friendly. This is to be expected as a lot of effort has gone into these applications. That being said, Smart Life/Tuya is now being used across many different products and syncing with SmartThings and getting more reliable each time. When comparing Hue or HBN Smart WiFi LED Strip Light to LIFX Z, I found that LIFX Z has the best colors, maximum versatility, and the best app, but is also the most expensive. In terms of color customization, this HBN model doesn't really compare to LIFX Z or Hue as it doesn't allow for white and customization. With the Smart Life app, I had a bit of an issue connecting to the light via WiFi, but once connected, the connection stayed strong. The app has many pre-programmed lighting modes and allows you to sync your music. One area the app is currently missing is the preset color adjustment panel. I wasn't very impressed with the quality of this product. This product, HBN Smart WiFi LED Strip, is of mediocre quality - even at this price point. In terms of value and functionality, this is a LED strip kit that I would probably keep.
