I have them on a stainless steel group head for temperature control - maybe chrome plated for an espresso machine. The metal gets hot as hell since it's a pressure cooker, probably a bit wet at times too, although it's never soaked. I applied after cleaning with alcohol and kept my paws away from the glue. After a few weeks of using just 2 strips I noticed that the orange heat sensitive markings had faded to the point where I'm unsure of the temp reading. I've learned how to adjust my perception of the display's brightness, but I've lost confidence in it. On the second strip, one corner tends to rise slightly. It didn't get any worse so maybe the glue didn't fail, it just wasn't applied well in that area. But it all shows that 2 little guys are huffing. Overall I regret spending almost $19 on ten of them and had to buy an IR thermometer. But he's doing his job, so all is not lost.
